TO HALIKARI DHAKER
3D animacion
The work is dedicated to the memory of the newborn by name HALIKARI DHAKER. The gravestone faces east and west and refers by its shape to the boundary pillar. The setting of the pillars draws a line of division into own/foreign, here/there.
The actual grave of the newborn is located in the historic Muslim cemetery in Bochoniki, on the border with Belarus, which in 2021 became a point of serious humanitarian crisis.
The inscription on the grave reads: Born 14.11.2021.

“The Weasel That Licks Salt,” part of the “Agro” series, intertwines the ancient legend of demons driving beloved horses into exhaustion with the modern theme of the migration crisis, where the boundaries between the animal and human worlds blur and break down. The metal figure of the weasel, symbolizing tamed wildness, becomes a metaphor for the destruction of natural borders and the triumph of division between “us” and “them.” In this context, the weasel, traditionally associated with myth and nature, is drawn into a new reality where natural harmony is disrupted, and fear and alienation become dominant forces.
